Jessica Wolinski is a ceramic artist. Drawing upon inspiration from history and the natural world, she imbues a loose personal narrative embedded in ornamental patterning with ceramic vessels, and drawings made in a variety of materials.
Growing up she was surrounded by art made by her mother and other members of her family. She was the child helping wrap ornaments and pins by the fan behind a table on hot summer days at craft fairs. From her upbringing, she was mostly involved with music, playing the bassoon, and mucking about at the local park, while literally mucking out stalls of various animals cared for by 4-H members like herself. This led to an admiration of beautiful things like paper, clothes, and dinnerware. And a deep connection to animals and being community minded.
